Temple History
It is believed that this temple was established at the same place where the great poet Tulsidas first had a dream of Hanumanji. Sankat Mochan Temple was established by poet Tulsidas. He was the author of Ramcharitmanas, the Awadhi version of Ramayana composed by Valmiki . In the last days of his life, when he was in unbearable pain in his arms, he composed 'Hanuman Bahuk' in front of Sankat Mochan Maharaj.
